Pet Deworming
Protect your pe and your famil from harmful parasites with our safe, effective deworming treatments and prevention plans.
Intestinal parasites are more common in pets than many people realize. From playful puppies and curious kittens to adult and senior animals, all pets are at risk of internal worms at some point in their lives. At Creekview Animal Hospital, we provide professional deworming services that are safe, effective, and essential to your pet’s overall health.
Worms can affect pets of all ages and species. The most common types of intestinal worms include:
Roundworms
Hookworms
Whipworms
Tapeworms
Coccidia
Giardia
Some of these parasites are zoonotic, meaning they can also infect humans, especially children. That’s why routine deworming and parasite control are critical—not just for your pet’s well-being, but for your family’s health too.
At Creekview Animal Hospital, our deworming program starts with a fecal examination, where we analyze your pet’s stool to detect the presence and type of parasites. Based on the findings, we recommend a treatment plan using veterinarian-approved deworming medications that are safe and tailored to your pet’s age, size, and species.
Puppies and kittens are especially vulnerable and should be dewormed every two weeks starting at 2–3 weeks old, continuing until about 12 weeks of age. After that, monthly treatments or a preventive plan is recommended depending on risk and environment. Adult pets should typically be dewormed every 3–6 months, or more frequently if they are outdoor, hunting, or live in multi-pet households.
Symptoms of a worm infestation may include:
Visible worms in stool or vomit
Diarrhea or bloating
Scooting or excessive licking
Weight loss despite normal appetite
Dull coat and lack of energy
However, many pets show no visible signs until the infestation is severe—another reason why regular screening and prevention are so important.
In addition to treating current infestations, we also offer preventive solutions such as monthly chewables that protect against both internal parasites and external ones like fleas and ticks. Prevention is often easier and more affordable than treating a full-blown infestation.
Our team also educates pet parents on how to reduce reinfection risks. Tips include:
Cleaning up pet waste promptly
Avoiding shared or contaminated outdoor spaces
Washing bedding and toys regularly
Practicing good hygiene after handling pets
At Creekview Animal Hospital, we understand that discussing worms isn’t always pleasant—but it’s absolutely necessary. Our gentle approach ensures your pet’s comfort during exams and treatment, and we’re always here to answer your questions or explain medication options.
Deworming isn’t just a once-and-done event—it’s a crucial component of your pet’s lifelong health care routine. By staying on top of parasite prevention, you’re helping your furry friend stay happy, active, and free from discomfort. Trust Creekview Animal Hospital to keep those unwanted worms away, so your pet can thrive from the inside out.
